Dave Jones

I am a PhD candidate at Old Dominion University in the English Department’s Professional Writing and New Media track. My research synthesizes several design theories — including Activity Theory, Norman’s (2004) three aspects of emotional design, and Grodal’s (2009) PECMA flow in film studies — to better trace and analyze users’ affective experiences in user interactions. I focus on further synthesizing principles of usability with empirical theories of culture.
